Prof. Dr. Greiser founded the BIPS in 1981 as the Bremen Institute for Prevention Research and Social Medicine and led it until his retirement in 2004, laying the foundation for the establishment of one of the most renowned epidemiology institutes in Germany. Prof. Dr. Greiser passed away on July 6, 2023, at the age of 84.
We hold his tireless commitment to the health of the population in grateful memory.
