Alcohol use in humanitarian settings: a programme of work to address alcohol and associated adversities among conflict-affected populations in Uganda and Ukraine (CHANGE)
Description
- CHANGE is a programme of work (2020-2026) that seeks to develop and implement a new transdiagnostic psychological intervention to address alcohol misuse and psychological distress among conflict-affected populations in Uganda and Ukraine. Two fully powered individual randomised controlled trials will be conducted in the respective settings. This is to evaluate effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of the intervention. We will also explore implementation factors using a series of longitudinal qualitative interviews. Scalability of CHANGE will be assessed qualitatively through application of recognized implementation frameworks. Consortium partners are the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the University of Copenhagen, the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla and HealthRIght International.
