Primary prevention early in life: effects of the pro kind intervention in adolescence

- The Pro Kind home visiting program for first-time socially disadvantaged mothers. Midwifes and social workers offer support to the mothers from pregnancy to the child's second birthday. The primary goal the intervention is to promote child health and development. The program was initially implemented between 2006 and 2012 and evaluated in a randomized controlled design. The ProKindLang study was a follow-up study investigated the long-term effectiveness of Pro Kind at child age 12-14. A outcome evaluation examined the long-term impact of the intervention on the child and the maternal health. BIPS was responsible for conducting a qualitative interview study to identify factors for the long-term implementation of preventive programs in early childhood using the example of Pro Kind.
