Conflicts of Interest

To handle conflicts of interest, BIPS has developed basic principles that are documented in a Policy Statement on Conflicts of Interest.

In addition, the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) requires foreign institutions receiving United States federal funding to comply with the requirements of 42 CFR Part 50, Subpart F, "Responsibility of Applicants for Promoting Objectivity in Research for which Public Health Service (PHS) Funding is Sought" and the financial conflict of interest regulation. In accordance with this policy, BIPS researchers involved in projects receiving such funding are required to disclose their domestic and foreign significant financial interests that are related to institutional responsibilities and could influence the design, conduct, or reporting of the US federally funded research they contribute to.
