Transdiagnostic stepped care program as a bridge between public health services and statutory health insurance

Description

School-based stepped care program to promote mental health among adolescents
Mental health issues and stress are widespread among adolescents and pose increasing challenges for schools. At the same time, there are limited opportunities in everyday school life to implement preventive measures systematically and in a low-threshold manner. STRESS-Care addresses this issue and aims to strengthen mental health skills among students at an early stage and reduce stress.
STRESS-Care is a multi-stage, school-based prevention program that combines analog and digital intervention elements. The intervention is aimed at students in grades 8 and 9 and is implemented directly in the school setting. Key players are school social workers and school psychologists, who carry out the intervention after receiving appropriate training.
STRESS-Care is being implemented as part of a cluster-randomized controlled trial at several locations in Germany.
In the long term, STRESS-Care aims to develop a practical, evidence-based prevention program for schools that takes different school contexts into account and can be integrated into existing care and prevention structures in the future.
