Joint Action for implementation of cancer screening programmes (EUCanScreen)

Description

The Joint Action EUCanScreen was implemented in the context of “Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan”. The project aims to assure sustainable implementation of high-quality screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer as well as implementation of the recently recommended screening programs for lung, prostate and gastric cancers.

A total of 29 countries, consisting of 25 EU member states, Norway, Iceland, Ukraine, and Moldova, are involved in the project. BIPS is engaged in the project as an affiliated entity under the leadership of the Robert Koch-Institute (RKI). Other involved institutions from Germany are the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), the German Cancer Society (DKG) and the MSB Medical School Berlin (MSB).
