Boosting the usability of the European Union mobile app for cancer prevention

Description

Description:
The International Agency for Research on Cancer/World Health Organization forecasts a 55 percent increase in the annual number of newly diagnosed cancer patients globally over the next 20 years. This will result in an increase in cases from 18.1 million in 2020 to 28.0 million in 2040.
The European Code against Cancer (ECAC), which was launched over thirty years ago, has long been the preeminent tool for conveying the best available, evidence-based information about cancer risk factors and preventive measures individuals can take for themselves and their families to reduce their cancer risk. The current edition of the ECAC provides 12 recommendations that can be adopted without the need for specialist expertise or supervision. EU Mobile App for Cancer Prevention, which will attempt to broaden coverage and dissemination of ECAC messaging among a diverse population, will be a crucial action to achieving ECAC implementation.
Boosting the Use of the EU Mobile App for Cancer Prevention (BUMPER) is a project that focuses on increasing the usability of the 'EU Mobile App for Cancer Prevention' among the general population through training, piloting, and promotion of the App. BUMPER will be implemented by a highly experienced coalition of organizations engaged in communicating cancer prevention to a broad cross-section of the population, using a mobile app, and developing, promoting, and implementing the ECAC. BIPS will take the leading role in piloting this newly developed mobile app in several European countries.
