Joint Action for the prevention of cancer and other non-communicable diseases (JA PreventNCD)

Description

The initiative aims to promote the prevention of cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Europe and to reduce the burden of these diseases. It focuses on effective political measures, as well as social and personal risk factors.

A total of 25 countries – almost all member states of the European Union as well as Norway and Ukraine – participate in the project. BIPS is engaged in the project as an affiliated entity under the leadership of the Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA). Other involved institutions from Germany are the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the Max Rubner Institute (MRI) and the Hannover Medical School (MHH).
