Successful symposium on family health
The event followed on from two previous symposia on the topic of "Growing up healthy in daycare centers, schools and neighborhoods". The topic of family health followed the main themes of "What can we learn from each other? Nutrition education, promotion of physical activity and mental health in childhood" in February 2019 and "Focus on participation" in September 2020.
In addition to a review of problems in family health highlighted by the Corona pandemic, the focus was also on new crises: "After Corona, a new major issue is now coming our way with the many refugees from Ukraine," said Prof. Dr. Hajo Zeeb, head of the Prevention and Evaluation Department at BIPS, at the beginning of the event.
Other questions discussed were: Where and in what form does health promotion take place in the family? How can access to families in daycare centers, schools and neighborhoods be improved? How can factors such as language and culture be taken more into account in everyday life?
The symposium took place as a face-to-face event and was organized by the Coordination Office for Equal Opportunities in Health Bremen and the BIPS.
