Opening of the Structured Doctoral Program in Health Sciences

Around 50 guests celebrated the launch of the new Structured Doctoral Program in Health Sciences at the University of Bremen on January 14, 2026.

The opening ceremony began with welcome addresses by high-ranking representatives of the University of Bremen and Bremen's science policy makers. Dr. Mandy Boehnke, Vice President for International Affairs, Academic Qualification, and Diversity, Prof. Dr. Anna Förster as a member of the University of Bremen's Research Commission, and Kay Wenzel, Head of the Department of Higher Education and Research at the Senator for Environment, Climate, and Science, welcomed the guests. They emphasized the significance of the program as a foundation for the careers of the participating doctoral researchers, but also for Bremen as a center of scientific excellence, as it further promotes interdisciplinary research and networking within Bremen's health sciences.
