Empowering healthy lifestyle behaviour through personalised intervention portfolios to prevent and control obesity during vulnerable stages of life

Description

Overweight and especially obesity are complex issues influenced by a variety of factors, including family structures, lifestyle, living conditions, and socioeconomic resources. Additionally, biological aspects such as genes, epigenetics, gut microbiota, and psychological traits play an important role. Therefore, the prevention of overweight and obesity should encompass both the individual characteristics of the affected persons and their environment, adopting a contextual and systemic approach.

The HealthyW8 project aims to develop an integrated and precise approach to obesity prevention. The focus is on enhancing the Human Learning and Recommendation System (HLRS), which is based on a Human Digital Twin (HDT) that also considers emotional states. The HLRS will integrate various factors, lifestyle aspects, and socioeconomic contexts to provide personalized recommendations.

The HealthyW8 project combines various methods to holistically address the issue of overweight. These include psychological assessments, policy audits, as well as qualitative and quantitative methods, including sensor-based data collection, observational studies, and participant surveys, to better understand behavior and its triggers, and to examine the role of the HLRS in long-term lifestyle changes.
