The press office of our Communications and Transfer Staff Office acts as the central point of contact for journalistic inquiries. It drafts and disseminates press releases, organizes and accompanies high-profile events and press conferences, and participates in exhibitions. BIPS has an extensive press distribution list with which information (press releases, event announcements, invitations to press conferences) can be sent by e-mail to national, regional and local media. In addition, BIPS has an account at Informationsdienst Wissenschaft (IDW), where press releases can be placed online, which are then automatically forwarded to the media via IDW's own distribution list. The thematic focus of public relations at BIPS is primarily on large national and international studies and the associated scientific publications. These and other BIPS research projects are of pronounced public interest because they directly affect the everyday lives of many people (common diseases, nutrition, physical activity) and/or have a direct impact on people's everyday lives (drug safety, health guidelines). The high relevance of our outputs is reflected in the continued interest of the media.
