BIPS Institute Seminar: Examples of successful data science approaches in epidemiological research
The focus was on concrete examples from research practice. The presentation discussed how research plans are developed in teams and how results from statistical analyses can be efficiently transferred into tables and manuscripts. It highlighted the role that clearly defined workflows play in collaboration within interdisciplinary research teams.
The presentation also showed how software solutions and collaborative platforms can supplement or replace traditional tools such as email chains, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents. Such approaches can help make epidemiological research more efficient, transparent, and reproducible.
The speaker was Konrad H. Stopsack, professor and head of the Department of Epidemiological Methods and Etiological Research at the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology – BIPS, as well as adjunct professor of epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
