At the BIPS Research Data Center, researchers can analyze the research data they have requested via the Research Data Portal in a secure room. This may be either at the request of researchers, or due to the special data protection and usage guidelines of some research data that do not permit analysis outside BIPS. The data is provided via special servers. The room is equipped with powerful PCs, so that even large datasets can be analyzed efficiently. Various statistical software programs such as SAS and R are available for data analysis.

For example, it is possible to analyze the IDEFICS/I.Family cohort data at the Research Data Center. In compliance with data protection regulations and granted approval, visiting scientists also have the opportunity to use the German Pharmacoepidemiological Research Database (GePaRD), as remote access to the database is not permitted.
