What opportunities and risks does digitalization pose for health?

Increasing digitization means that we are confronted not only with the social and physical environment but also with a digital environment. On the one hand, we are interested in the extent to which digitization leads to real improvements in research, prevention and care. On the other hand, we investigate the emerging health risks of digitization associated, for example, with the use of social media. In addition, we aim to assess the consequences of limited digital health literacy and risks of non-transparent digital environments using an interdisciplinary approach. With our knowledge, we intend to contribute to the best possible use of digital technologies for the improvement of health and reduction of health-related digital inequalities.
