EXPO Milan 2015: Tackling obesity via EU-funded R&D Workshop

Showcase

As an European-wide research project I.Family is invited to the EU Pavilion at the EXPO 2015. The EXPO 2015 will be held under the theme "Feeding the Planet - Energy for Life". Nutrition is thus a central topic of the world exhibition which will be examined from different perspectives. The EXPO 2015 is according the fight against obesity its own workshop series during which Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ahrens, I.Family project coordinator and deputy director at the BIPS, will present the project to the public on May 14.

In 2014, more than 1.9 billion adults were overweight; of these, over 600 million were obese (source: WHO). Obesity prevention is a complex issue, and can be tackled from different angles: understanding the dietary needs of specific target groups, promoting healthy diets, creating new foods, etc. The purpose of the 14 May 2015 workshop is twofold: to present 7 EU-funded R&D projects that are investigating different approaches to combat this obesity epidemic, and to offer a networking opportunity for stakeholders interested in obesity.

I wish to register for the "Tackling obesity via EU-funded R&D" Showcase on 14/05/2015 from 14.30 to 17.00 followed by a drink - Registration
