Fachgruppe Monitoring der Arzneimittelanwendung und -sicherheit

Die Arzneimittelexposition in der Bevölkerung ist von einer großen Dynamik geprägt. So werden laufend neue Arzneimittel zugelassen, Zulassungen erweitert, neue Kontraindikationen ausgesprochen oder es entwickeln sich Trends in der Anwendung bestimmter Arzneimittel an, die aus Public Health Sicht bedenklich sind. Viele der Forschungsfragen, die sich in dem Zusammenhang ergeben, können nur basierend auf großen Gesundheitsdatenbanken, die das reale Versorgungsgeschehen abbilden, und der notwendigen Expertise in der Nutzung dieser Daten adressiert werden.

An dieser Stelle setzt die Fachgruppe an und bearbeitet pharmakoepidemiologische Fragen im Bereich des Monitorings der Arzneimittelanwendung und -sicherheit in Deutschland unter Nutzung der pharmakoepidemiologischen Forschungsdatenbank GePaRD. Ein wichtiger Bereich ist dabei die Durchführung von Beobachtungsstudien zur Anwendung und Sicherheit von neuen Arzneimitteln nach deren Marktzulassung, die von Arzneimittelbehörden (z. B. der European Medicines Agency, kurz EMA) gefordert werden. Diese sogenannten PAS-Studien (Post-Approval Safety Studies) werden meist international zusammen mit Datenbanken aus anderen Ländern durchgeführt, insbesondere mit Partnern aus dem SIGMA-Konsortium, dem das BIPS seit 2020 angehört. Darüber hinaus reagiert die Fachgruppe auf Public Health relevante Themen, die sich aus aktuellen Trends im Bereich der Arzneimittelanwendung und -sicherheit in Deutschland ergeben.
